Femi Azeez not ready for Brighton debut, says Hurzeler
Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler has announced that winger Femi Azeez is not yet ready to make his competitive debut for the club. Azeez, who joined from Millwall on transfer deadline day, is currently in an adaptation phase following an injury sustained during Millwall’s opening game of the season.
While Azeez participated in a behind-closed-doors friendly during the recent international break, Hurzeler noted that the player experienced minor issues afterward. The manager explained that Azeez’s body needs time to adjust to the physical intensity and demands of the Premier League. Hurzeler emphasized that the club is being patient, stating that the decision regarding when to play the winger will be made collectively with the player.
Azeez signed a four-year contract with Brighton, with the transfer fee reported to be an initial £12.5 million that could rise above £15 million.
