Feminist groups protest Christian Nodal's booking at Mexico's Festival Internacional del Globo

Christian Nodal was confirmed as an invited artist for the 2026 Festival Internacional del Globo, which will be held in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Several feminist collectives, including the Red Feminista de León and the Ley Sabina Guanajuato collective, issued a public statement urging the festival organizers and the state government to reconsider his participation. They argued that "the presence of the singer sends a contradictory message" in a region where femicide, family violence, economic abuse and other forms of aggression against women remain prevalent. The groups called for the incorporation of social responsibility, gender perspective and human‑rights criteria when selecting artists for publicly funded events. Christian Nodal has not issued any response to the feminist petition.
