FenaBio conference gathers Brazil's bioenergy leaders to map future of biogas and SAF
The FenaBio conference was held on 12‑13 August during the 32nd Fenasucro & Agrocana in Brazil. It brought together industry, research, finance and production sectors for a series of panels on biogas, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), ethanol, bio‑electricity, maritime bio‑fuels and new market opportunities.
Key speakers included Newton Duarte (Cogen) and Rafael Gonzalez (Necta) on biogas expansion, Yuri Schmitke (ABREN), Erik Trench Alcântara Santos (Ultragaz) and Lytton Medrado (Bazico Tecnologia) on the energy transition, José Magalhães Fernandes (Honeywell Technologies Latin America) and Gilberto Peralta (Airbus Brasil) on SAF, as well as Renato Cunha (NovaBio) and Henrique Araujo (Copersucar) on bio‑bunkers. Discussions also covered bio‑electricity challenges with participants such as Zilmar de Souza (UNICA) and representatives from Siemens Energy, Ecogen Brasil and Tria Energia.
