Fenerbahçe stadium upgrade: ex‑TFF chief Nihat Özdemir rejects board role

Renovation work on Fenerbahçe's Chobani Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium continues, with plans to expand capacity. Rumours circulated that former Turkish Football Federation president Nihat Özdemir would re‑enter the Football Association's board and finance the stadium project.

Özdemir publicly denied any formal appointment, stating, “There is no plan for me to join the board. My son is already on the management board; I can support Fenerbahçe without a position in the Football Association.” He affirmed readiness to provide both financial and moral support for the stadium expansion and other club needs, while his son remains involved in club management.
