Fermo reopens Via Adami parking for summer after owners' agreement
After a brief 48‑hour standoff between the owners of a privately‑held lot on Via Adami in the coastal town of Fermo and the municipal administration, the parking area was reopened for the summer season.
The reopening follows a free‑loan (comodato gratuito) contract signed by the municipality and the owners, allowing the space to be used by small‑size vehicles such as cars and SUVs, with a limiting barrier remaining in place to keep larger vehicles out. The arrangement is limited to the summer months when demand from beach‑goers is high; outside that period the area is rarely used.
Mayor Alberto Scarfini thanked the owners for making the space available, saying it “provides a large, convenient parking area for those heading to the beach in summer.” Traffic assessor Mauro Torresi highlighted the importance of private‑public collaboration, noting that similar privately‑provided parking spots exist along the Fermo coastline.
