Fernando Botero exhibition opens at Agrigento's Valley of the Temples

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily, is hosting "L'incanto del Mito," a Fernando Botero exhibition that showcases 25 original works. The show includes eight bronze statues placed among the ancient ruins and 17 paintings, drawings and watercolors displayed inside Villa Aurea. Featured pieces range from "Leda and the Swan" and "Motherhood" to recent 2023 works such as "Donna del circo" and "Donna con i guanti." The exhibition runs from 23 July 2026 until 31 October 2026. Curator Nicola Barbatelli highlighted the dialogue between Botero's volumetric style and the classical statuary of the site. A concurrent display of 12 additional Botero works is also held at Palermo's Palazzo Belmonte Riso.
