Fernando Botero Exhibition Opens at Sotheby's New York

The solo show “Botero in New York” opened at Sotheby’s Breuer building in New York on 22 July 2026 and will run until 7 September 2026. It features paintings and sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero from the pivotal period 1960‑1973, when he developed his signature “Boteroism” style of exaggerated, voluminous forms.

The exhibition includes loans from the Botero Foundation and a selection of works offered for sale, marking the first solo exhibition dedicated to a single artist at the iconic Breuer venue. Botero, born in Medellín in 1932, is renowned for his humorous yet politically pointed depictions that are now held in major museums worldwide.
