Fernando Botero exhibition opens in Agrigento's Valley of Temples

The Valle dei Templi in Agrigento, Sicily, will host the exhibition “Fernando Botero. L’incanto del Mito” from 23 July 2026 until 31 October 2026. Curated by the artist’s nephew Fernando Botero Quintana and critic Nicola Barbatelli, the show presents paintings, watercolours, drawings and monumental sculptures from the Botero Zea Collection inside Villa Aurea and in the park’s archaeological landscape, creating a dialogue between Botero’s enlarged figures and ancient Greek architecture.

At the same time, the 16th‑century frescoed rooms of Castel Caldes in Val di Sole will feature “Da Warhol a Banksy. Pop e Street Icons in Val di Sole” until 20 September 2026. Organized by APT Val di Sole with curators Giuseppe Pizzuto, Alessandro Casagrande and Cristina Collettini, the exhibition links Pop Art icons such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring with contemporary street‑art figures like Banksy, Obey and Blek le Rat, highlighting the stencil technique that bridges historic decoration and modern urban expression.
