Fernando Haddad addresses Banco Master probe and campaign nationalization
Fernando Haddad, candidate for the governorship of São Paulo, stated that the investigation into Banco Master represents a critical opportunity for Brazil to demonstrate the seriousness of its institutions to the world, provided the case does not end without accountability. Haddad advocated for the lifting of secrecy regarding all investigations related to the Master case before the upcoming elections.
Haddad also addressed the dynamics of the São Paulo electoral race, arguing that the "excessive nationalization" of the campaign is hindering local debate. He noted that national issues, such as the crisis involving the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and various ongoing investigations, are overshadowing state-level concerns like public security, education, and health. He claimed this focus on national politics reduces the time available to discuss specific problems facing the state of São Paulo.
