Ferran Adrià's elBulli revolution to be featured in new series

A new six-episode series titled ‘Génesis’ will chronicle the culinary revolution led by chef Ferran Adrià at the renowned restaurant elBulli. Presented at the San Sebastián Film Festival, the series aims to provide an audiovisual record of the gastronomic transformation that occurred in Spain, which Adrià believes has not been sufficiently documented in the past.

Adrià personally supervised the production to ensure technical accuracy, emphasizing that the dishes shown on screen must be authentic to the elBulli experience. The series, directed by David Pujol, will be released on Netflix in November. Beyond entertainment, Adrià views the project as a way to showcase how Spanish gastronomy transitioned from a secondary status to a global leader in innovation.

Following its digital release, the project will have an international presence, including a screening in New York on December 8 attended by Adrià and Catalan regional president Salvador Illa.
