Release of Ferran Adrià culinary series ‘Gènesi’

Overview

The six-episode series ‘Gènesi’, directed by David Pujol, premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The production chronicles the gastronomic revolution led by Ferran Adrià and the rise of his restaurant, El Bulli, from the 1980s to its status as a global phenomenon.

To ensure technical accuracy, Adrià personally supervised the production, which included the recreation of approximately 70 iconic dishes. Adrià noted the project’s importance in providing visibility to culinary innovations from Catalonia and documenting how Spanish gastronomy transitioned to a global leader in innovation.

Following its debut on TV3 and the 3Cat platform, the series is scheduled for international distribution via Netflix in November, covering Spain, Latin America, and the United States. An additional screening is planned for December 8 in New York, attended by Adrià and Catalan regional president Salvador Illa.
