Ferrara invests millions in new cycling and pedestrian infrastructure

The city of Ferrara is investing approximately 8 million euros to expand its cycling and pedestrian network, aiming to better connect the city center with its outlying areas. A significant portion of the 14.89 million euros obtained from the national Prima program, promoted by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, will be used for infrastructure.

Specifically, 7.67 million euros are earmarked for infrastructure, including 6.77 million euros for new paths and 900,000 euros for improving road safety at critical junctions. The centerpiece of the project is the ‘Ferrara Green Line,’ a 2.3-kilometer path built on a former railway bed connecting via G. Pesci to the Tecnopolo. This green corridor is designed to reduce travel times from twenty to six minutes and accommodate up to 1,200 daily trips.
