Ferrari faces executive reshuffle and surge in EV demand after Luce launch

Ferrari unveiled its first electric model, the Luce, in June 2026. The car drew mixed reactions: in Italy the launch was mocked on social media and the company’s shares fell more than 8% in a single day, prompting the departure of long‑time marketing chief Enrico Galliera. He will be succeeded on 1 July by Massimiliano Di Silvestre, formerly head of BMW Italy, marking an unusual external appointment for the luxury marque.

Despite the criticism, the Luce sold out quickly, with 88 units booked in China and about 300 reservations worldwide within hours. Analysts say the strong demand is pressuring Ferrari’s supply chain, accelerating the shift from internal‑combustion components to electric power‑train parts and driving up lithium and cobalt prices. The launch highlights both leadership challenges and the broader industry transition toward electrification.
