Ferrari honors Michael Schumacher at Monza Grand Prix
Ferrari is hosting a major tribute to Michael Schumacher during the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza, marking the 30th anniversary of his first victory with the Scuderia in 1996. To honor the legendary driver, Ferrari has introduced a special livery for its SF-26 cars, inspired by the F310 he drove during his debut season. The design features white and black accents on the wings, gold rims, and seven stars on the nose to represent his world championships.
The commemorative weekend will feature historic machinery on track. Sebastian Vettel is scheduled to drive Schumacher’s championship-winning F2002 during a demonstration lap, while Rubens Barrichello will also pilot the V10-powered car. Additionally, the F310 and 248 F1 will be present to represent the beginning and end of Schumacher’s era with the team.
Beyond the track, PUMA and Ferrari have launched a limited edition Monza collection, including apparel and accessories that evoke the 1996 aesthetic. Current drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will feature in the campaign. While the tributes are widely celebrated, some commentators, including David Coulthard, have questioned the timing of the event amidst internal team discussions.
