Ferrari unveils Luce, its first fully electric supercar

Ferrari introduced the Luce, its first fully electric model, at a ceremony in Rome on 25 May 2026. The five‑seat hypercar is powered by four in‑house electric motors delivering a combined output of about 1 050 hp, accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 310 km/h. The 122 kWh battery offers a WLTP‑rated range of roughly 530 km and can charge at up to 350 kW. Pricing starts at around €550 000, making it the most expensive regular Ferrari model.

The exterior and interior were co‑designed by LoveFrom, the studio founded by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive, and feature a minimalist, glass‑heavy aesthetic that has divided fans and critics. Ferrari added a bespoke sound system that amplifies real motor vibrations rather than simulating a combustion‑engine roar.

Analysts noted the launch coincides with Ferrari scaling back its electrification goal to 20 % of its lineup by 2030, down from an earlier 40 % target. Market reaction was mixed: the company's share price fell 7‑9 % on the Milan exchange after the reveal, and commentators highlighted the high price, unconventional styling, and uncertain demand for a luxury electric Ferrari.
