Ferrari expands supercar lineup

Entities: Audi Nuvolari · Maranello · Ferrari 849 Testarossa · Ferrari · Audi

Overview

Ferrari’s electrified rollout continued through July 2026. After the 12 July debut of the 849 Testarossa hybrid berlinetta and the 13 July launch of its spider variant, the brand highlighted the 1,050 hp, four‑wheel‑drive powertrain, 7.45 kWh battery and retractable roof that folds in 14 seconds. Safety‑mandated styling changes replaced the fully retractable headlights with a slim black strip, yet the spider’s performance on Tenerife’s volcanic roads drew praise.

A Czech automotive magazine reviewed the limited‑edition spider on 22 July, confirming its thousand‑horsepower output and exotic driving character, and also detailed the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet’s new HD‑Matrix LED headlights, revised front bumper with T‑Hybrid vents, electric door handles and a light‑touch fabric‑soft top.

On 27 July Ferrari and Audi unveiled competing hybrid supercars. Ferrari’s 849 Testarossa built on Maranello’s heritage with a 4.0‑liter biturbo V8, three electric motors, an active rear spoiler delivering up to 415 kg of downforce, and forged 20‑inch wheels that aid brake cooling. Audi’s Nuvolari pursued a carbon‑focused approach, pairing a carbon‑fiber body on an aluminum space‑frame with a hybrid system producing roughly 1,001 hp and an S‑duct front with a three‑position adaptive rear wing. Both models underscored the industry’s shift toward ultra‑high‑performance electrified hypercars.
