Ferrari Luce electric supercar to undergo Euro NCAP safety crash test

Ferrari unveiled its first production electric vehicle, the Luce, on 25 May 2026 in Italy. The four‑door, five‑seat sports car delivers 1,050 hp, accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and is priced at about €550,000 in Europe and ¥7.6 billion in Japan. Designed by Sir Jony Ive’s LoveFrom team, the Luce features a 122 kWh battery with a 530 km range and a four‑motor all‑wheel‑drive system.

Euro NCAP announced that the Luce will be subjected to its most expensive crash‑test programme to date, requiring at least four identical units and representing a total testing cost of over €2 million. The evaluation will assess occupant protection, pedestrian safety, driver‑assistance systems and overall crashworthiness, with Ferrari aiming for a five‑star rating. Results are expected to influence safety assessments in other markets, such as ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand.
