Ferrari appoints former BMW Italy chief as new marketing head after Galliera's exit
Ferrari announced that Enrico Galliera, who has served as chief marketing and commercial officer since 2010, will leave the company in July 2026 after 16 years. The company thanked Galliera for “extraordinary contribution” and said he chose to embark on a new professional chapter.
Massimiliano Di Silvestre, previously president and CEO of BMW Group Italia, will assume the role on 1 July 2026, reporting directly to CEO Benedetto Vigna. Di Silvestre brings more than two decades of experience in the luxury‑auto sector and is expected to guide Ferrari through its transition to electrification.
Galliera’s departure follows the controversial launch of Ferrari’s first fully electric model, the Luce, in May 2026. Designed with Jony Ive’s studio, the €640,000 EV was criticised for its styling and triggered a brief 5 % dip in Ferrari’s share price. The company’s statement on Galliera did not mention the Luce, though analysts noted the timing.
Vigna praised Galliera’s role in strengthening the brand worldwide and highlighted the challenge ahead for the new chief to sustain Ferrari’s exclusive image while expanding into the electric market.
