Ferrari rare models set for Monterey auction in August

Ferrari will auction several rare models during Monterey Car Week in California on August 15. RM Sotheby’s will sell the chassis‑number‑0 Ferrari Luce, the brand’s first electric car, on a no‑reserve basis with an expected price around $1.1 million. The Luce, designed by Apple’s former chief design officer Jony Ive and his LoveFrom studio, features a 772 kW (1,050 hp) four‑motor powertrain, 0‑100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, a top speed of 310 km/h, a 122 kWh battery delivering a WLTP range of 530 km, and a unique pearlescent white paint that shifts hue with the light. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity.

Mecum Auctions will also offer the Tricolore Scuderia Collection, a trio of low‑mileage Ferraris painted in matching Italian tricolour livery: a 2015 458 Speciale, its Aperta variant, and a 2017 F12 tdf. The 458 Speciale models are powered by a 4.5‑liter naturally aspirated V8 delivering 597 hp, while the F12 tdf houses a 6.3‑liter V12 producing 769 hp, allowing speeds over 210 mph. All three cars have exceptionally low mileage and are expected to attract strong interest at the August 15 auction.
