Ferrari to submit $1 million Luce electric SUV for Euro NCAP crash test

Ferrari’s newly unveiled Luce electric SUV, priced at around $1 million (NZD), is set to be the first Ferrari model submitted for independent Euro NCAP crash testing. Four Luce units would be supplied for the tests, making it the most expensive vehicle ever to undergo the programme. The Luce, marketed as a five‑seat family SUV with ISOFIX child‑seat mounts, represents the marque’s first fully electric offering.

CEO Benedetto Vigna clarified that the Luce does not signal the end of Ferrari’s internal‑combustion or hybrid line‑up. He said the brand will continue producing V8, V12 and hybrid powertrains, giving customers a choice among thermal, hybrid and electric models. Vigna stressed that the move responds to emerging market demand for zero‑emission options while preserving Ferrari’s traditional engines.
