Ferrari enters EV era with Luce electric model

Ferrari is transitioning into the electric vehicle era with the Luce, its first fully electric production model. Developed in collaboration with Jony Ive’s design collective, LoveFrom, the Luce features a four-motor powertrain producing up to 1,035 horsepower and 990Nm of torque. The vehicle is equipped with a 122kWh battery and an 800-volt architecture, supporting fast charging of up to 350kW, which can add approximately 70kWh of charge in 20 minutes. It offers a claimed range of over 530 kilometres.

The launch initially met with mixed reactions. Following its unveiling in May 2026, Ferrari’s stock dropped by eight percent due to design criticism and skepticism regarding the brand's shift to electric propulsion. However, the company reported that the initial allotment of approximately 500 Luce vehicles for the year sold out in less than two months. Despite early market volatility and public criticism from former leadership, the stock has since recovered, with financial institutions like Goldman Sachs monitoring its performance.
