Ferrari wins Lone Star Le Mans after late Toyota failure

Ferrari secured its first victory of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season at the Lone Star Le Mans, held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The No. 50 Ferrari 499P, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen, claimed the win following a dramatic late-race reversal.

For much of the six-hour event, the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, piloted by Nyck de Vries, Kamui Kobayashi, and Mike Conway, appeared to be in control of the race. However, with approximately 10 to 15 minutes remaining, the Toyota suffered a hydraulic failure, forcing the car to retire from the lead.

The podium was completed by the No. 38 Cadillac V-Series of Jack Aitken, Sébastien Bourdais, and Earl Bamber in second place, and the No. 35 Alpine A424 in third, following a five-second penalty for an unsafe release. In the LMGT3 class, Aston Martin secured a victory with the Heart of Racing team, while Ayhancan Güven achieved a second-place finish for Manthey.

Despite the loss, Toyota maintains its lead in the manufacturer standings, holding a nine-point advantage over BMW.
