A 17-year-old girl has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Mateu Orfila Hospital following an accident during the Sant Bartomeu de Ferreries festivities in Menorca.

The incident occurred on Monday morning at Pla de l’Església, a location used for traditional horse-related celebrations. According to municipal sources, the teenager was struck by a horse, causing her to lose her balance and suffer a severe head impact.

Health authorities in Menorca confirmed the minor was transferred to the hospital to be treated for a traumatic brain injury.
