Ferrovie Appulo Lucane resumes Grumo Appula‑Gravina train service

From Monday 3 August, Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) will restore rail traffic on the Grumo Appula–Gravina section of its network in the province of Bari after a suspension that began on 22 June. The line between Bari Centrale and Grumo Appula will remain closed until 30 August while extraordinary maintenance, infrastructure upgrades and the burial of a second track at Modugno are completed.

During the Bari–Grumo Appula closure, a substitute bus service operates on the same timetable, with departures from Bari’s FS bus terminal on Via Capruzzi. Trains numbered 12 (Matera Sud–Bari, 07:45) and 47 (Bari–Matera Sud, 18:55) are cancelled and replaced by buses, which also run direct, non‑stop between Bari and Matera to accommodate high tourist demand. Information on schedules and stops is available on the FAL website, Facebook page, mobile app and the 800 050 500 hotline.
