Ferrovie Appulo Lucane rail service maintenance

Overview

Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) has been conducting extraordinary maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and the burial of a second track at Modugno, which necessitated a suspension of rail services starting on June 22.

On August 3, service was partially restored on the Grumo Appula–Gravina section, while the line between Bari Centrale and Grumo Appula remained closed. During this period, a substitute bus service operated to accommodate passengers and high tourist demand.

As of August 28, FAL has confirmed that rail service between Bari Centrale and Grumo Appula will resume on August 31. This reinstatement will restore the full Matera-Altamura-Bari route to its regular pre-work schedule.
