Niterói hosts International Literary Festival honoring Lélia Gonzalez

The International Literary Festival of Niterói (FLIN) 2026 is currently underway at the Reserva Cultural, with organizers expecting up to 30,000 visitors by the end of the event on Sunday. This edition, themed ‘Territories of Words’, honors the late anthropologist, philosopher, and activist Lélia Gonzalez.

The festival features a diverse program including debates on race, gender, and identity, as well as sessions on politics, democracy, and journalism. Notable participants include authors Ana Maria Gonçalves and Jeferson Tenório, journalist Miriam Leitão, and actress Fernanda Torres, who was also recently granted the Title of Niterói Citizen by the City Council.

Activities range from children's workshops and theatrical performances to musical discussions and book launches, such as the biography ‘Mar Negro’ by Jelineha Rocha and Solange Duarte. The event aims to democratize access to literature and promote cultural diversity within the region.
