FesTVal festival begins 18th edition in Vitoria-Gasteiz

The 18th edition of FesTVal, a major audiovisual festival held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, has commenced. The event serves as a significant showcase for the television industry, with last year's media impact exceeding 85 million euros according to Kantar Media audits.

Festival director Joseba Fiestras noted that while the event provides a positive economic return to the local hospitality, retail, and transport sectors, there is a growing need for increased funding to support its expansion. The festival's workforce scales up to approximately 60 people during the event period.

Key highlights of the opening sessions include presentations from AMC Global Media regarding their upcoming programming strategy and the debut of La Séptima, a new generalist channel arriving on digital terrestrial television (TDT), which will present its editorial proposal and management team.
