Fethiye emerges as a key hub for multi-activity sports tourism
Fethiye, located in Turkey’s Muğla province, is emerging as a major hub for the growing trend of multi-activity sports tourism. Recent research indicates that 44.1% of travelers are increasingly interested in holidays that combine various physical and adventurous experiences rather than traditional passive sightseeing.
A central attraction in the region is paragliding from Babadağ Mountain. Launching from altitudes of nearly 2,000 meters, visitors can fly in tandem with licensed pilots over the turquoise waters of Ölüdeniz, with flights typically lasting around 30 minutes. The experience can include acrobatic maneuvers such as 360-degree spins and wingovers.
Beyond paragliding, the area offers diverse activities to cater to different interests. Nature enthusiasts can visit the Butterfly Valley, home to over 80 species of butterflies, or explore Kabak Bay, which is popular for camping, yoga, and wellness retreats. This variety allows travelers to combine high-adrenaline sports with relaxation and mental well-being.
