Feyenoord defeats SC Cambuur 5-2 amid fan pyrotechnics incident

Feyenoord secured a 5-2 victory against SC Cambuur in the Eredivisie, but the match was marred by a significant pyrotechnics incident. In the 12th minute, Feyenoord supporters launched fireworks into the pitch and towards the home stands, causing the match to be suspended for approximately 30 minutes.

The incident resulted in five Cambuur supporters sustaining injuries, including burns, hearing damage, and eye injuries. Feyenoord director Robert Eenhoorn described the behavior as “worthless” and expressed deep regret for the injured fans, noting that the club would seek to identify and ban the perpetrators.

On the pitch, Feyenoord dominated the game after the restart. Gjivai Zechiël scored twice, Luciano Valente added a goal, and Ayase Ueda converted a penalty. Despite the chaos, Feyenoord climbed to fourth in the league standings, while Cambuur remains at the bottom without any points.
