Orhan Okulu wins 7th gold belt at Elmalı Oil Wrestling Championships

Orhan Okulu secured his seventh victory at the 674th Historical Elmalı Oil Wrestling Championships held in Antalya, Turkey. In a final match lasting over an hour at the Recep Gürbüz Wrestling Field, Okulu defeated Osman Kan to claim the gold belt.

Okulu reached the final after Onur Susuz was disqualified in the semi-finals following a heated match. While Osman Kan finished as the runner-up in the Elmalı competition, Feyzullah Aktürk was crowned the overall champion of the CW Enerji Türkiye Oil Wrestling League season based on cumulative points.

The three-day event featured 72 head wrestlers and over 1,400 participants across various categories. The tournament was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerlikaya and World Ethnosport Confederation President Bilal Erdoğan, who noted the increasing international interest in traditional oil wrestling.
