FIA appeal court to decide Monaco GP results in three weeks

The final classification of the Monaco Grand Prix remains unresolved as the FIA International Court of Appeal requires an additional two to three weeks to deliver a verdict on pending appeals. The controversy stems from a decision to reinstate Alpine driver Pierre Gasly to a third-place podium finish after it was discovered that his original pit-lane speeding penalties were based on inaccurate pit lane measurements.

While Alpine successfully overturned the penalties, the decision has triggered appeals from McLaren and Red Bull regarding sporting fairness. These teams argue that the ruling creates an uneven playing field because other drivers, such as Oscar Piastri, served their own pit-lane penalties during the race and cannot have them retroactively removed.

The legal proceedings, which took place behind closed doors in Paris, will determine whether the reshuffled race results—which saw positions for drivers like Isack Hadjar, Oscar Piastri, and George Russell altered—will stand or be reverted.
