FIA to hear McLaren and Red Bull appeals over Monaco GP results

The FIA International Court of Appeal has scheduled a hearing for Tuesday, August 25, in Paris to resolve the ongoing controversy surrounding the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix results. The hearing will address appeals lodged by McLaren and Red Bull Racing against the decision to rescind two five-second time penalties previously issued to Alpine driver Pierre Gasly.

During the race, Gasly was penalized for exceeding the 60 km/h pit lane speed limit. However, Alpine successfully requested a review after evidence emerged that the pit lane distance had been measured incorrectly, leading to inaccurate average speed calculations. This review resulted in Gasly being reinstated to third place, which subsequently demoted Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) to fourth and Oscar Piastri (McLaren) to fifth.

McLaren and Red Bull are challenging this reversal, arguing that the decision creates sporting injustice since other drivers, including Piastri, had already served their respective penalties during the race. The hearing will be held at 09:00 local time and will be closed to the public.
