Fiat enters final testing phase for new Argo X in Brazil
Fiat is entering the final validation phase for the new Argo X, a compact vehicle scheduled to debut in the Brazilian market in 2026. Developed at the Betim Automotive Pole in Minas Gerais, the model has already undergone more than 1 million kilometers of testing across diverse terrains, climates, and road conditions to ensure mechanical calibration and build quality.
The Argo X is the first new product from the Betim plant to be part of Stellantis’s R$ 32 billion investment plan for South America through 2030, with R$ 14 billion specifically allocated to the Minas Gerais facility. The vehicle will occupy an entry-level position in the manufacturer's lineup, working alongside the existing Fiat Argo, which will continue production as the Argo Urban.
Visually, the Argo X adopts Fiat’s new global design language, drawing inspiration from the European Grande Panda. This includes pixelated LED lighting signatures and an ‘X’ shape in the daytime running lights and rear lamps. While specific dimensions and full specifications remain undisclosed, top configurations are expected to feature a 1.0 Turbo Flex T200 Hybrid (MHEV 12V) engine producing 116 cv and 20.4 kgfm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission.
