Fiat vehicle lineup updates in Brazil

Overview

Fiat is restructuring its Brazilian vehicle lineup, centered on the transition toward the Argo X crossover. As of late 2026, production for the Argo X has begun at the Betim Automotive Pole in Minas Gerais, with a commercial launch expected in December. The model has completed over 1 million kilometers of testing and is the first product from the Betim plant to benefit from Stellantis’s R$ 32 billion South American investment plan. Built on the Smart Car platform, the Argo X adopts a global design language inspired by the European Grande Panda, featuring pixelated LED lighting. While the exterior maintains similarities to the Panda, the Brazilian model will feature a centered Fiat logo and lacks side engravings. The interior is a hybrid of Stellantis components, utilizing a dashboard structure based on the Fiat Grizzly and air vents shared with certain Citroën models.

The Argo X will be offered in various versions, including a 1.0 Firefly aspirational engine with a five-speed manual transmission producing 75 cv, and a 1.0 Turbo Flex T200 mild hybrid (MHEV 12V) producing 116 cv and 20.4 kgfm of torque with a CVT gearbox. Safety features may include up to six airbags, autonomous braking, and lane maintenance assist.

To prepare for this launch, the existing Argo will continue production as the Argo Urban. Additionally, the Fiat Cronos sedan is seeing significant price reductions. Fiat is also expanding its portfolio with the Grizzly, which will be assembled in Betim in SUV and coupe body styles. The Grizzly will coexist with the Fastback and will include gasoline, mild hybrid, and fully electric variants, with the electric version capable of a 400 km range.
