Fiat marks 50 years in Brazil with new model rollout plan
Brazilian automaker Fiat celebrated its 50th anniversary in the country, a milestone highlighted by a tribute from Volkswagen Brazil that placed the classic Fusca alongside the historic Fiat 147. The gesture was praised as respectful competition within the Brazilian automotive sector.
Stellantis, Fiat’s parent company, announced a commitment to launch a new model each year in Brazil through 2030, backed by a R$32 billion investment in South America, including R$14 billion for its Betim complex. The group is finalising a partnership with Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng to introduce vehicles to Brazil by the end of 2028, which will be marketed primarily under the Peugeot and Jeep brands. Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa and South‑America president Herlander Zola emphasized regional autonomy and strategic collaborations as part of the long‑term plan.
