Fiat Panda set as world's narrowest drivable car
Italian mechanic Andrea Marazzi has officially set a Guinness World Record for the narrowest drivable car in the world. The vehicle is a heavily modified 1993 Fiat Panda that was reduced to a width of just 50.2 centimeters.
Marazzi performed the engineering feat at his family's vehicle scrapyard in Bagnolo Cremasco. The project, which he dubbed ‘Panda per Uno’ (Panda for one), involved carefully dismantling the doors and side panels before cutting and welding the central section of the car to achieve its extreme dimensions.
While the original first-generation Fiat Panda was already known for its compact design, intended for narrow Italian streets, this custom version is so slim that a driver can extend both elbows out of the windows. The modification process took approximately one year to complete.
