Fiat develops new electric urban models and modular concepts
Fiat is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with several new projects focused on urban mobility and modularity. The company has registered the name ‘Koala’ for a new, affordable electric model that will share a platform with the upcoming Citroën 2CV. This new vehicle, intended to be a small and economical E-car, is reportedly in an advanced stage of development, though Fiat has chosen not to unveil it yet to avoid overshadowing Citroën’s debut.
Additionally, Fiat showcased the ‘Multiplay’ concept at the Paris Motor Show. This modular prototype features a ‘Metamorfosi’ architecture that allows it to transform between a six-passenger family vehicle and a four-seater pick-up.
Other upcoming projects include the ‘Multiplina’, a four-seat microcar derived from the Topolino, designed to offer more space within a compact footprint for city driving. These developments are part of Stellantis’ broader strategy to introduce affordable, small-scale electric vehicles to the European market.
