Fiege adds five eActros 600 trucks while Mercedes‑Benz tests eArocs 400 electric lorry
Logistics group Fiege has taken delivery of five new Mercedes‑Benz eActros 600 heavy electric trucks, raising its international fleet of battery‑electric lorries to 25. The eActros 600 units are equipped with three LFP battery packs totalling about 621 kWh, delivering a range of up to 500 km and are being deployed at Fiege sites in Rangsdorf and Bremen. Managing Director Christian Thiemann said the expansion supports the company’s decarbonisation strategy and that charging infrastructure in Germany will grow to 30 fast‑charge points by year‑end.
At the same time, Mercedes‑Benz Trucks showcased its first battery‑electric construction truck, the eArocs 400, delivering 612 hp and a gross vehicle weight of up to 44 tonnes. Built as a glider chassis in Wörth and fitted with an 800‑volt drivetrain by the Paul Group, the eArocs 400 was tested on an off‑road site in Stockstadt. It targets urban and low‑noise construction work, though its higher curb weight reduces payload compared with diesel equivalents.
