Fies waiting list convocation deadline ends this Thursday
The deadline for the convocation of pre-selected candidates on the waiting list for the Student Financing Fund (Fies) for the second semester ends this Thursday (24). The Ministry of Education (MEC) advises students to monitor their classification by course, shift, and location via the Fies Seleção website using a Gov.br account.
Candidates who are pre-selected must follow a strict timeline: they have up to three business days to complement their registration information online. Subsequently, they must validate their documentation—including identification, proof of residence, proof of schooling, and proof of income—with the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring (CPSA) of their chosen institution within five business days.
The final step requires visiting a Caixa Econômica Federal branch to formalize the financing contract. This semester's program offered 75,500 vacancies across 1,274 private higher education institutions. The selection process saw 127,175 applicants making 315,431 registrations. The program includes affirmative action, reserving 50% of vacancies for students from CadÚnico with a per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage through Fies Social.
