FIFA Transfer Bans Affect FC Juárez and Independiente
FC Juárez has been placed on FIFA’s Transfer Ban List, preventing the Mexican club from registering any new players from 27 July 2026 until the restriction is lifted. FIFA has not disclosed the specific reason for the sanction, and the club has not issued a statement. This follows earlier temporary bans on other Mexican clubs that were later resolved.
Club Atlético Independiente in Argentina is also under a FIFA registration ban. The sanction stems from a claim by Paraguayan side Olimpia, which alleges that former Alajuelense forward Facundo Zabala owes the club about US$1 million plus interest. Until the dispute is settled before FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber in Zurich, Independiente cannot sign new players, hampering its transfer‑window activity.
