FIGC announces amateur football registration rules and dates

The FIGC Federal Council has established official dates and regulatory provisions regarding player registration for clubs participating in 11-a-side football championships for the 2026/2027 season. For amateur players, specific rules apply to those whose registration has lapsed, allowing them to re-register within the amateur sector until February 1, 2027, subject to a limit of three registrations per season.

Non-professional player registrations, including first-time registrations and those following a release, can be processed from July 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. Additionally, discussions are ongoing regarding the application of new match rules in amateur leagues, such as time-wasting prevention measures for goalkeepers and medical protocols for player injuries. While these rules generally apply to official football under the LND, specific local implementation depends on directives from the FIGC and AIA.
