FIGC President suggests possible UEFA deadline extension for Euro 2032 stadiums

Giovanni Malagò, president of the FIGC, has indicated that the UEFA deadline for submitting the list of available stadiums for Euro 2032 may be postponed. The Italian federation is in constant contact with UEFA, and Malagò described the relationship between the two organizations as “idyllic.”

While the initial goal of identifying potential host cities and facilities has been met, the federation is currently working on secondary evaluations. The current deadline for submitting the final list of five selected stadiums is set for late September or early October. Any potential delay would likely concern the technical evaluation and officialization process by UEFA rather than the delivery of the required documentation by the FIGC.

Candidate venues for the tournament, which Italy will co-host with Turkey, include several historic structures and new projects, such as the Allianz Stadium in Turin, the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, and new stadium projects in Milan and Rome. Other facilities under consideration include the Artemio Franchi in Florence, the Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, and the Via del Mare in Lecce.
