FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 reaches 106 million digital views

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) reported that the Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026 has achieved a digital milestone, surpassing 106.4 million views across its platforms by the end of the second pool phase. Instagram was the primary driver of viewership with 66.7 million views, followed by Facebook with 32.6 million, TikTok with 4.5 million, and YouTube with 2.65 million.

FIH noted that the tournament successfully reached a significant number of new audiences. Approximately 70.6 percent of views and 62 percent of interactions originated from individuals outside the organization’s existing follower base. The digital strategy utilized athlete-led storytelling, behind-the-scenes content, and original formats like ‘Inside Pass’ and ‘Hockey Ride’ to engage fans.

The 2026 tournament is scheduled to take place from August 15 to August 30, featuring 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams. Matches will be split between Wavre, Belgium, at the Belfius Hockey Arena, and Amstelveen, Netherlands, at the Wagener Hockey Stadium. The women’s final is set for August 29 in the Netherlands, while the men’s final will be held on August 30 in Belgium.
