Tijuana Book Fair and FILEM 2026 launch cultural events
The Tijuana Book Fair 2026 has commenced at Parque Morelos, running from October 24 to November 1. Despite a delayed start due to rain, the event features over 150 editorial presentations, workshops, and activities. Notable highlights include a presentation by singer Julieta Venegas regarding her book, ‘Norteña. Memorias del Comienzo’. Organizers aim to expand the fair's reach to the city's eastern zone.
Simultaneously, the International Book Fair of the State of Mexico (FILEM 2026) is being held in Toluca and various regional locations. Under the theme ‘More authors, more worlds’, the fair focuses on female-authored literature. The event includes 115 stands and over 300 activities, such as concerts, film cycles, and conferences, with a significant presence at the Plaza de los Mártires.
In addition to these literary events, the Commission for Human Rights of the State of Mexico (CODHEM) utilized the FILEM platform to present a new digital work titled ‘Tus obligaciones en la atención de mujeres, adolescentes y niñas’. This resource, coordinated by Dr. Fátima Esther Martínez Mejía, provides tools for public servants to defend the rights of women and girls.
