Filippo Ganna signs three-year deal with Lidl-Trek

Italian cyclist Filippo Ganna has officially signed a three-year contract with the Lidl-Trek team, set to begin in the 2027 season and running through the end of 2029. The move marks a significant transfer in the professional cycling world, as Ganna departs Netcompany INEOS after eight seasons.

Ganna, a two-time world time trial champion and Olympic gold medalist, aims to bolster Lidl-Trek’s ambitions in the Classics, Grand Tours, and time trials. He will join a roster that includes riders such as Mads Pedersen, Juan Ayuso, and fellow Italians Jonathan Milan and Simone Consonni.

Lidl-Trek CEO Andy Schleck described Ganna as an “exceptional talent” capable of winning major races while supporting his teammates. Ganna expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter, stating that with the current team composition, “nothing is out of reach.”
