Global film and literary festivals commence in Belgium, Morocco, Chad, and France
Various cultural and film festivals are commencing across Europe and Africa.
The 41st Festival du Film Francophone de Namur in Belgium opened with the film ‘Ni vue, ni connue’. Due to a 30% reduction in subsidies from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the festival has transitioned to a more concentrated five-day format.
In Morocco, the sixth Marrakech Short Film Festival concluded, featuring nearly 400 submissions from 90 countries. The event also hosted the inaugural AMANAR initiative, a professional platform providing mentorship to Moroccan film projects.
In Chad, the 5th edition of the Festival du cinéma (FECIM) opened in Koumra, focusing on the theme of using cinema to raise awareness about climate change. The three-day event includes workshops and masterclasses for young talents.
In France, the 26th edition of the Festival C’est Trop Court is underway in Nice, highlighting European short films. Additionally, the 39th Festival du livre de Mouans-Sartoux has begun, featuring former president François Hollande presenting his latest book.
