Film festivals announce upcoming events and career honors

The seventh edition of the Murchante International Short Film Festival (CICOM) is scheduled to take place from October 19 to 24 at the Casa de Cultura in Murchante, Spain. Organized by Asociación Marte with support from the Murchante City Council, the event will feature finalist screenings from October 19 to 22, a special free screening for seniors on October 23, and a final awards gala on October 24.

In separate film industry news, editor Milenia Fiedler has been selected to receive the ToruńCAMERIMAGE award for her career achievements. Fiedler, a graduate of the FAMU film school, has worked on approximately 250 productions, including collaborations with prominent directors such as Andrzej Wajda and Krzysztof Zanussi. The 34th edition of the ToruńCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival will be held in Toruń from November 7 to 14, 2026.
