Film festivals CineFest and Filmgalopp announce award winners
Several film festivals recently concluded their award ceremonies in Hungary and Romania.
The 22nd CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival saw record attendance, with over 12,000 tickets sold across five cinema venues. The festival's top prize, the Imre Pressburger Award, was awarded to Sarah Arnold's French debut feature, ‘Too Many Wild Animals’. Gábor Reisz received the Zukor Adolf Grand Prize for his film ‘Ground Level’, marking the first time a creator has won two major awards in the festival's history. Bernadette Mayer's ‘Mommy Blue’ won the audience award.
In Cluj-Napoca, the 12th Filmgalopp awards were presented at the Győzelem Cinema. Lehel Fazakas won the main prize for his 17-minute short film, ‘The Possibilities of Escape’. Other notable recipients included composer Albert Márkos, who received the Sárga Csikó Award, and journalist Lilla Gyöngyösi, who was honored with the Erika Fám Award. The NMHH special award went to Barna Ottó Zoltáni for the animated film ‘Ottó Zoltáni’.
