International film festivals announce upcoming editions and programming
Various international film festivals have announced upcoming programming and organizational changes.
In Cameroon, the 30th edition of the Écrans Noirs festival has revealed its nominees. The event, scheduled for November 2026 in Yaoundé, will feature 38 works from 18 countries. Notably, the web-series category has been suspended due to a lack of original, unreleased content.
In France, the Festival du film politique de Carcassonne is expanding its 2027 edition to include Villemoustaussou and a multiplex to increase capacity to 30,000 entries. Meanwhile, the Festival de la Fiction et du Documentaire Politique in La Baule is preparing its 4th edition for October. The 16th Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes has also unveiled a program featuring masterclasses and jury competitions.
In Belgium, the 41st Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur (FIFF) will run from September 30 to October 4, showcasing diverse works from across the Francophone world.
In Canada, the 32nd edition of Cinemania in Montreal will take place from November 4 to 15, 2026. Karin Viard and Marc Labrèche will co-chair the ‘Visages de la francophonie’ international jury.
