Film festival activities in France and Canada

Overview

The 4th edition of the Political Fiction and Documentary Festival is scheduled to take place at the Gulf Stream cinema in La Baule, France, from October 1 to 4. Festival president Gabriel Le Bomin noted that increasing attendance has necessitated the opening of new screening rooms. The event explores political themes through documentaries and interpretive fiction, including genres such as espionage and historical drama.

In Montreal, the 32nd edition of the CINEMANIA film festival has announced its jury for the ‘Visages de la francophonie’ international competition. The jury will be co-chaired by French actress Karin Viard and Quebecois entertainer Marc Labrèche. The competition includes ten international feature films and features a diverse jury composed of artists from France, Quebec, and Luxembourg.

Recent updates confirm that the CINEMANIA festival in Montreal is set to run from November 4 to 15, 2026, with Karin Viard and Marc Labrèche maintaining their roles as co-chairs for the ‘Visages de la francophonie’ international jury.
